I do not wish to criticize or judge anyone's morals or preferences in what is entertaining but the Archives are not the place for these graphic adult videos , which are being uploaded to the Archives. Please refrain from posting this type of material where it could be viewed by minors or others. There are plenty of adult video sites where you can upload all the pornography you wish to and reach your targeted audience. I am not condemning anyone for their interest in this type of material but the Archives is not the place to exhibit XXX videos.

It's not really the purpose of the Archive to provide 'family entertainment,' and it's a slippery slope anyway. What you deem as offensive or inappropriate may be of cultural or historical value for others, and that is really the main priority of IA. If you are concerned about your children accessing material that you do not approve, I would suggest that you monitor their activities more closely.

I will agree that censorship is a slippery slope. However I see little or no cultural or historical significance in videos such as this one.

Now if I put music and subtitles to this, is it art?

I can't say that I would defend it. If this is actually a teenager, it is illegal and it should be removed. However, there are nude flicks from earlier eras that may have some historical value, mainly b&ws from the 50s and 60s. I have a large collection of silent films, and some of the early stag films, circa 1920s, might be valuable to someone like me.

Someone just gave me a few samples of "vintage erotica". Nothing I'd find particularly special except for the age of them. I don't know if it's worth going to the trouble of putting them up if there's no place for them here. After all, it ain't Chaplin or Arbuckle. It shows there were naughty people back then.

That's actually part of the point. The methods they used are also interesting. There's one that has a camera looking up the skirt of a woman rowing a boat for a couple of minutes, and nothing else. Tasteless stuff, but it's not a question of tastes or morals, or gender discrimination, but how it reflects on its time and culture, and how the genre developed over time.

The stuff I was given was pretty hardcore, even by todays standards, very explicit. This may or may not be of interest to you, I don't know. The subject matter shows many of the explicit acts you'd find in modern "liquor store" videos. Whether or not there's any historical or cultural value in them depends on who you ask. I, personnally, find it to be somewhat of a novelty but that's only because I haven't seen much other than the one dvd I was given. I don't find myself in too much of a hurry to hunt down other films like this. But that's just me.
